HOW WE SERVE YOU

CMC committees work hard to develop opportunities for our members to develop their practice and share their knowledge.

We believe...

The California Mathematics Council (CMC) believes that all students have the capacity to become mathematically competent and confident when provided a rigorous and challenging mathematical program supported by high expectations.

The California Mathematics Council is committed to:

  • promoting professional activities that will ensure continual improvement towards excellence in the teaching of mathematics;

  • communicating with educators, parents, the public, and legislative bodies concerning issues related to teaching rigorous, challenging mathematics; and

  • increasing the diversity of membership of the California Mathematics Council and the diversity of leadership in mathematics education at the local, state, and national levels.

CMC is proud to co-sponsor Just Equations’ seventh annual conference:

Mathematics education should be engaging, inclusive, and relevant. Join us to envision new directions for math education policy and harness our collective commitment to provide all students with the opportunity to realize their full potential.

Guided by the latest research and innovative strategies in high school and college math education, we will move beyond the limitations of the past. Together, we can create a blueprint for math classrooms that empower students to use the math they learn to improve their lives and the world around them.

Just Equations’ seventh annual conference, The Mathematics of Opportunity: Beyond Limits, gathers educators, leaders, advocates, and policymakers to explore the limitless possibilities for innovation in math education. The free, virtual conference will be held April 8–10, 2025.
